| PIPESIZE is powered with Visual Basic for
Applications (VBA) functions. We use VBA to compute Reynolds Number,
Friction Factor and Pressure Drop. Why? VBA makes the templates easier
to read and debug. They consolidate the formulas. And they permit
global editing of formulas.
For instance, the Reynolds Number function takes flow rate input in
units of gallons per minute. It's a simple task to edit the VBA code
to change this to any other unit. It gives you great flexibility in
building the template and using the code in new applications.
The VBA functions, embedded in an Excel 97 template, are available
free. The template has brief instructions on using the functions, and
provides examples.
